Fresh and very soulful, was my immediate reaction when listening to the new Danish soul singer Aisha. Aisha has recently released her debut solo album "Deeper Than Roots" on which she purrs modern urban tales using the universal global language of soul and pop music.

The album is best described as an original mix of warm soulful vocals with an organic backbone. The first track we heard 'No One Loves Me Better' has Aisha playfully creating the trumpet sound at the beginning and end of the song.

Aisha, who has roots in Denmark and Somalia, wrote her first song aged just 9 years old. At the age of 14, Aisha gave her first live performance in front of a large audience, since then she has performed all over the world and recorded with various internationally renowned artists such as Tanya Stephens, Junior Kelly, BB Seaton and The Savage Rose.

Besides being a strong talented singer, Aisha works with both the creative and technical process - she writes lyrics, composes and produces her own songs.

Aisha's debut album 'Deeper Than Roots' was released in May 2012 and its worth buying a physical copy (CD/ Vinyl) for the funky album cover artwork.
